ARRIRAW
ARRIRAW is a proprietary camera raw codec developed by ARRI and is commonly used with its ALEXA line of cameras. These files are uncompressed and recorded to an external recorder developed by CODEX. The file wrapper type may vary, but ARRIRAW files can be wrapped as .mxf or .arx movie files, as well as .ari image sequence files. ARRIRAW is often used for feature films, visual effects, and high-end commercial productions due to its high bit-depth and quality. Color Finale Transcoder currently supports the .mxf and .ari formats, but not the .arx format.
